The Delhi to Mumbai Expressway - or the Western Peripheral Expressway - is a major infrastructure project in India that has been in the works for a number of years. This huge 1,300-kilometer-long expressway will connect the national capital Delhi to the financial capital Mumbai, providing an alternative to the existing National Highway 8 that is high-speed. It is projected to boost economic growth in the region by reducing travel time and transportation costs for businesses and commuters alike. The NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) is constructing this expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 1 lakh crore (USD 14 billion). The expressway will be passing through six states - Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra - and will bring down travel time between Delhi and Mumbai from 24 hours to 12. It has a design speed of 120 km/h making it one of the fastest highways in India and boasts eight lanes with a width of 3.5 meters each as well as electronic toll
