Temples and buildings
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is located on Tirumala hill, about 20 km from Tirupati. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The god is adorned with gold and precious jewels and is considered the richest god in the world.
Temple has many temples dedicated to different saints like Goddess Padmavati, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Hanuman. The temple complex also has several buildings and pavilions such as Ranganatha Mandapam, Garuda Mandapam and Ananda Nilayam.
Darshan and Ceremony
Lord Venkateswara's darshan (vision) is the main attraction for devotees visiting Tirupati. The temple is open for darshan from morning till evening and attracts large numbers of devotees every day.
There are different types of darshan tickets for the temple, including ordinary darshan, special darshan, and VIP darshan.
Temple also has many daily rituals and ceremonies like Suprabhatam, Thomala Seva, Archana and Ekantha Seva. The temple also has a large kitchen where free food is served to devotees called Annadanam.
Besides temples, Tirupati has many places worth visiting such as Sri Kalahasti Temple, Sri Venkateswara National Park, Chandragiri Fort and Silathoram.
